Visitors to the deVOL stand at 100% Design will be impressed by the company’s latest launch – a brand new state of the art handle less kitchen range branded ‘Air’. Featuring the very latest Smeg appliances, Air is not seen as a retro kitchen, but rather, as a new take on modern.

This brand new kitchen, inspired by iconic shapes and manufacturing processes, was driven by a desire to create and evolve. The cutting edge design features curved aluminium sides, a beautiful bent oak frame finish and polished resin and stone doors. The kitchen also features Hi-Macs doors manufactured from 70% recycled material. Air is available in a choice of ten shades, from natural blues, greys and greens, as well as vibrant orange and green – each coordinating perfectly with Smeg’s range of 50’s style retro refrigerators.

Inspired by the shape of the iconic Airstream caravan, traditional aluminium boat construction and Marc Newson’s very own iconic Lockheed Chair, one of the new kitchen’s defining features is the completely floating curved end cabinets – where rolled aluminium end panels meet a classic oak frame, secured by chunky architectural carriage bolts.

The kitchen is the setting for a number of stunning Smeg appliances, including top of the range Marc Newson FP610AN pyrolitic self-cleaning ovens, installed side by side, coordinating 3 zone SI933D 90cm induction hob, as well as the 80cm FAB50 50’s style retro fridge freezer which will take pride of place on the deVOL stand.

To maintain the clean, unbroken lines of this unique kitchen, all doors and drawers are handle less and are ‘push to open’. This technology is mirrored in Smeg’s unique, patented 13 place setting fully integrated handless technology dishwasher, the DI6013NH.

The deVOL Air kitchen is designed and hand-built in Leicestershire, England, by highly skilled specialist cabinet makers with over 25 years of experience in the trade. Embracing a strong heritage and years of craftsmanship, the results of this stunning, modern and sleek kitchen are evident for all to see. Air will launch at 100% Design, Earls Court, London which takes place between 16 and 20 September 2012 (Stand K130).
